Isopropyl rubbing alcohol is also known as spirit. It has multiple medical, surgical, and household uses. It can be used as a disinfectant and cleaning agent for surfaces and medical instruments. Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol, also known as IPA or surgical spirit, has versatile applications in healthcare and daily hygiene for effective disinfection and infection prevention.

CHG + Iso Propanol Skin Prep is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial solution with rapid and persistent action for pre and post-surgical skin antisepsis. The solution conforms to FDA guidelines for skin preparation and is clinically proven to be effective with a single application. It is non-toxic to the skin and comes in an easy-to-identify translucent bottle.

Contains Chlorhexidine Gluconate IP 10% v/v (Equivalent 2% w/v Chlorhexidine Gluconate) and Isopropyl Alcohol IP 70% v/v. It provides persistent antibacterial activity for up to 6 hours and suppresses bacterial regrowth for 72 hours after a single application.

This specially formulated Surgical Spirit combines Methyl Salicylate, Diethyl Phthalate, and Castor Oil to provide effective antiseptic and skin-cleansing action. It helps disinfect minor wounds, cuts, and abrasions while soothing the skin and reducing irritation. The presence of Castor Oil keeps the skin soft and prevents dryness, making it suitable for repeated use.

• Local application in the therapy of inflammatory diseases of the skin of infectious etiology (such as boils, panaritis, and mastitis).
• Used for friction, including inflammation of the tendons and joints.
• Suitable for skin processing before injections.
• Effective for superficial lesions of the skin, bruises, scratches, and insect bites.
• Ideal for disinfecting the hands of medical personnel allergic to other antiseptics.
• Can be used for disinfection of surgeons’ hands and skin before surgery, especially for people or children allergic to other antiseptics, and for adults in areas with sensitive or fine skin.

Uses:

Many hospitals use methylated spirit as a disinfectant before injections. Both IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol) and methylated spirit act as effective disinfectants; however, IPA is generally more cost-effective compared to methylated spirit.
